The Clients Who Made Me Better, Called Me Higher, and Have Been With Me the Longest.

I have been wanting to write this blog for some time now, but didn't quite have the words to say to firstly, explain the long and continuous relationship I had with these particular clients and secondly, to rightly express my gratitude for their loyalty to me.

I think had it not been for their family and a few other choice clients in particular, I would have probably thrown in the real estate towel.

There have never been and probably never will be clients like these. This man, is the kind who calls you higher and requires excellence and competence. He no doubt, in every way, has made me a better agent. The standard with which they held me to and the graciousness they bestowed on me, have been guiding forces carrying me on to the agent I am today. I say often, if I can pass their school of real estate not once, not twice, but three times, I can do any transaction- and I mean that!

Let me start from the beginning. I received a call in the winter of 2019 about a listing I had in Madison. He introduced himself and said he would like to see it as quickly as possible. I was in Virginia at the time, but arranged for someone to let him in to see it.

I later received an email from him saying he would like to make an offer and use me as his agent on the buying side as well. It’s so funny to look back on your life and events and think, “ I did not know it then, but that chance encounter changed my life and career.’’

They bought that house.

Then 3 months later, I listed theirs and sold it quickly.

But it was the final journey to get them home that bound us together for life for a few reasons:

1. Unbeknownst to them, they chose my neighborhood.

2. It was a long, bloody, brutal battle to the bitter end!

We started out like most buyers start, bright-eyed and hopeful. But things would soon take a not so pleasant turn.

Over and over again throughout the course of this 9 month transaction, I was back and forth between the seller and my buyers; making sure they were heard, seen, cared for.

There were times, I felt my back up against the wall and there were no fair avenues for us to turn down. I fought with all the grit I could muster.

It was this transaction that taught me a good agent doesn’t just sit in the trenches with their client. A good agent says, “ I will do whatever it takes to get you out of here.” A good agent celebrates your victories and professionally fights for you in your war. Anyone can sell a house, It takes more than you can imagine to advocate and protect.

This transaction was among the hardest I have ventured through for many reasons. I had made some hard decisions in my career which left some huge holes and insecurities mainly, “ do I have what it takes to do the hard stuff.”

This transaction and these people taught me that I did. I do.

To this day, they sing my praises to anyone who will listen and they give me far more credit than I feel I deserve.

I can tell you with certainty no transaction ever cost me so much and gave me back even more.

When they hugged me on closing day and said, “ Thank you, Madison. We would not have made it here without you.”

I could feel all the courage, determination, and gratitude welling up within me.

Same, guys…

Same.

Their review below I wear like a badge of honor. If I could print it on my business card, I would. It was so graciously given and so humbly received.

"I have bought and sold many houses over the years in many parts of the country and, as a result, have worked with many realtors. Madison Huff is head and shoulders above any realtor with whom I’ve done business. Not only does she have a depth and breadth of understanding of the local area (schools, commute times, etc.) that exceeds any realtor in the area, but her understanding of the needs and desires of her clients is without peer. Additionally, the knowledge level of the typical realtor (in my experience) of local laws, regulations, and codes is adequate, at best; however, Madison’s understanding in this area is unmatched and has saved me thousands of dollars. Finally, and most importantly, her commitment to her clients is unparalleled. Unlike many other realtors, she is not, simply, interested in the commission, she truly wants what’s best for her clients, even at her own personal expense (I have proof). I could not recommend Madison more highly, nor could I compliment her more completely - simply put, she is what a realtor should be."
