The Ones Who Bought A House Without Seeing It.

Updated: Sep 15, 2020

This family was so much fun to work with. They sent me many memes and brought me tamales made in someone's kitchen in Colorado and they were heavenly. The way to my heart is through my stomach, no doubt. I often joke that I became a Realtor for the free food.

I received an email from them late one night that they were wanting to move from Colorado Springs to the Huntsville/Madison area and they didn’t want to wait one second.

Now in the real estate world, These are the kind of clients handed to you on a silver platter, and they were gold.

They weren't exactly sure which route they wanted to go: rent and build or buy a resale. After I gave them a run down of all the new construction communities in their criteria, they started to think maybe a resale was best option for their family.

They gave me a list of 10 things they wanted in their home and asked me how confident I was that I could help them find it here in Madison. I smiled and said 100%. Looking back it was a little gutsy as you just never know what someone truly desires but I knew if anyone could do it, I could!

They text me a picture of a property early Sunday morning and I went as soon as I could and did a facetime showing for them- pointing out all the highlights and downfalls of the home because they weren't here to do so for themselves. They decided to make an offer. This home hit all 10 boxes on their wish list. They were so excited!

OFFER ACCEPTED!!!!

They accepted an offer on their house in Colorado and theirs was accepted here on the same day. It was a magical line up.

Until inspection time… this is the day all agents hold their breath on. It’s make it or break it day.

After a few thorough inspections, we discovered the property needed to have the roof replaced on the entire front of the house to the tune of a pretty hefty sum. Needless to say, my clients were a little discouraged but I asked them what they wanted/needed to move forward and to trust me to do my best to make that happen.

They explained to me what they needed in order to feel good about moving toward closing on the property. (This part is important. I need to know what will make them feel enthusiastic about moving forward. Not just going forward to get to closing. The goal is their satisfaction.) After some late night negotiation with the listing agent, I was able to get them what they asked for and needed in full!

They tied up all their loose ends in Colorado and loaded up all they owned, a dog, and a ten month old baby and drove 2 days to buy a home they had never seen!

I was so nervous to meet them for their walk through because we were two days away from closing and they hadn’t yet laid eyes on it.

We walked in and throughout. I was holding my breath.

She came down stairs and said, “Madison!.....

I LOVE IT”!

Exhale.

Thank God!

Welcome home.

Madison sure is glad to have your beautiful family, the city and the girl!
