In the time it took Rebecca to find and buy the right house, an Asian elephant could have conceived and birthed a baby. I was starting to think I might actually witness an Asian elephant give birth before I witnessed her buy a house. 🤣
All kidding aside, she was slow and steady. She was full of care and consideration. This was one of my favorite journeys in real estate. It taught me so much about Rebecca, but also, life.
I met Rebecca in early 2019. She was referred to me by a sweet friend and she was almost a stranger. I sat with her and listened as she told me she was ready to buy a home, but she wouldn't settle. I didn’t know then how much weight was in those words.
In sweet sweet Rebecca's defense, this journey didn’t last so long entirely because she couldn't pull the trigger or took too long. We actually wrote 4 offers in this time and were under contract twice. After not being able to reach a compromise on one offer, losing out on a house she loved, and a contract we had to kill for structural issues, we finally found the perfect house for her.
When I met Rebecca, I didn’t know her. Now, I do. She is patient and kind. She is loyal and giving. Rebecca won’t settle. She won’t be pressured into that which isn’t best. When all her family and friends told her she was taking too long and to pull the trigger, she patiently waited for the right house at the right time. Sure, she had to raise her budget once or twice. Sure we had to kiss a few frogs, sure we had to go to some god awful showings and houses I thought the roof might fall in over my head, but she stayed the course and found the one.
I was so proud to be on this journey with her. It was a joy and an honor. I finally got paid, but more importantly, I know I now have a friend and faithful book club member in her for life. I have come to know and love her and for that it was worth every showing, every offer, every moment I got to spend on this journey. Eighteen months, a million showings, 4 offers, 2 contracts, many book clubs, and a whole lotta love later, Rebecca found her way home!
